Leadership DISD prepares aspiring and proven leaders to impact the academic achievement of all students through informed volunteer engagement. Our 10-month program gives you an in-depth understanding of the challenges, opportunities, and operations of public education in Dallas to inform your impact, targeted leadership development to maximize your impact, and relationships with fellow leaders and public education advocates to sustain your impact.
Our goal is to build the leadership density of community leadership representing all sectors and all levels to provide and direct community resources and capacity to dramatically improve student achievement in Dallas. Graduates of Leadership DISD are equipped and positioned to serve DISD in a number of leadership roles, including Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs), Site Based Decision Making (SBDM) committees, Board of Trustees task forces & committees, non-profit boards and leadership, and in other volunteer leadership positions, and to advance the broader discussion around public education within the Dallas community.
